Alison Kubbos has a background in both fine and commercial art.
While she was born in Australia, the forests surrounding Valemount have become her home and muse. Using found and recycled materials whenever possible, Alison’s dreamlike images explore symbolic landscapes and the liminality of human/non-human existences within them.
The grains of the wood that she paints upon are prompts for imagination and expression, and are allowed to show through her media and to tell a story of their own.
